As some of you may remember, we used to rent out the whole upstairs of Joel's home on many weekends, which meant we had to dedicate at least a whole day to cleaning, laundry, and general preparation. It also meant that Joel was homeless for those weekends, which, of course, wasn't always the most convenient.
Well now, we have a freshly renovated airstream, complete with beautiful wood interior, a kitchenette complete with a small gas stove and sink, solar powered lighting and refrigerator, and composting toilet. We've cleared out some scrubby trees in the farm's backyard to make a beautiful spot with views of the mountains in the back and the garden and farmhouse in the front. Obviously, the views will change seasonally, but during the late Spring and throughout the Summer, we'll have beautiful flowers and gardens to walk through, and we're working on add-on packages that can include a farm tour and even a farm-fresh supper cooked by head farmer Joel, for those who are interested.
If you're simply looking for a beautiful, rustic get-away for a weekend, or if you want a whole farm experience, this is a great option. We're located 20-30 minutes from both Charlottesville and Crozet, too, so you don't have to feel stuck out in the country unless that's what you're going for!
